While there are certain similarities between having low self-esteem and confidence issues, the two are not the same. For example, lacking self-confidence doesn’t necessarily make you feel miserable and self-critical, whereas having low self-esteem certainly does because it makes you feel inferior. If you’re lacking in confidence, it’s still possible to be happy because confidence relates to many areas of life and isn’t all encompassing: you can be very confident in some areas of life, but lack confidence in others. The impact of lacking confidence is also not related to a hyper-critical sense of identity, as is the case with low self-esteem.

We are all confident at doing things we are good at because we know that we have acquired the skills to master the activities: for example, if we have passed our driving test, we know that we can drive and we feel confident about driving.

However, there are areas in life where a person could or should be able to do something yet lacks the confidence to do so. This lack of confidence holds you back and prevents you from living your ideal life. For example, a person may stay stuck in a bad relationship for years because they lack the confidence to leave and live on their own.

As a coach and motivator I have the tools to help you overcome your confidence issues. Together we will look at your goals, analyse why you haven’t achieved them and draw up a carefully detailed plan of action to ensure that you develop the confidence to achieve them.

It all starts by believing in yourself. Having suffered from confidence issues myself for many years, and having overcome them, I can honestly say that you won’t meet a better motivator than me to instill the confidence in you that you need to achieve your dreams.
